Eyelid Malformation
Cyst-like formation of tissue because of incomplete
genesis.

Congenital malformations of the eyelids which have their
origin within embryo-genesis can occur solely or in
combination with malformations of other parts of the
body.
There are different kinds of forms in the course of
so-called „ocular syndromes“.
If there are no secondary complications and if there is
a normal development of vision, a surgical intervention
can be postponed until the child gets older.
If further complications or dysfunctions get obvious, as
e.g. corneal alterations, a surgical correction ought to
be made.
If there is the need of an immediate intervention, there
are some medical centres specialized in oculoplastic
surgery which are even able to operate on babies.
