Tear Gland Prolapse
Especially the lateral parts of the upper eyelids are
thickened.

Some patients do not get swelling of the upper eyelids
by problems of their skin, as swelling or atony, but
because of parts of their tear glands which emerge from
the orbits.
This pathology which is called prolapse of the tear
gland is characterized by swelling of the lateral parts
of the upper eyelids.
This anatomical alteration can be treated surgically and
must not be neglected if a surgical correction of the
upper eyelids is planned, especially cosmetic surgery.
